Dymax Dual Cure 9482 has received certification against the UL Flammability and Electrical standards for materials used in printed wiring boards. This UV curable conformal coating, specially formulated to cure in shadowed areas underneath components on printed circuit boards, has met UL 746-E (electricals) and UL 94-V0 ( flammability) testing.
Formulated with UV curing and a secondary moisture cure, this material achieved a UL 94-V0 flammability rating up to 10 mils thick, which makes it ideal for environmental protection of PWBs, wire harnesses, electronic components, and other surfaces needing a protective coating. It passes thermal shock at -55°C and up to 135°C at 10 mil. This certification is given after rigorous testing and complements existing testing standards for the 9482 series including the Mil Standard: Mil-I-46058C (IPC-CC-830), and is RoHS compliant.
Dymax 9482 is engineered for coating thicknesses up to 0.254 mm (0.010 in) and offers superior protection to alternative products. It becomes tack free immediately after curing, helping to avoid handling defects such as fingerprints that may be left on the boards if they are handled too soon. In addition, it demonstrates excellent re-workability which is of particular importance to manufacturers of expensive PCBs or customers looking to increase board yields.
